JRS Australia and Jesuit Social Services (JSS) sign MOU to co-lead the Catholic Alliance for People Seeking Asylum (CAPSA)

Last week, we were absolutely delighted to announce that Jesuit Refugee Service ‘JRS’ Australia and Jesuit Social Services have now signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly lead the Catholic Alliance for People Seeking Asylum – CAPSA. This MoU is designed to facilitate collaboration and advocacy to ensure a Catholic welcome is more widely encouraged, supported and implemented for those who seek protection in Australia. The Catholic Alliance for People Seeking Asylum (CAPSA) is a powerful means to amplify the voices of welcome that exist across Catholic communities in Australia, to shift hearts and minds, and to also encourage humane, evidence-based refugee and asylum policy reform.

Everyone here at JRS looks forward to working with all of you to meet these objectives. Together, we are best placed to make a positive difference in the lives of so many children, women, and men who are seeking asylum.
